I bought this bike used in 2008. I was upgrading from a 2004 R6.

The main difference I noticed first of all was the powerband. It is a very smooth, consistent powerband, especially as opposed to the R6 I owned before it. The extra power is immediately noticeable too, the roll-on from 110-125 mph feels about the same as the 60-80 mph roll-on from a 600. It is a lot less maintenance on the throttle then the 1000´s though, making it a perfect balance in my mind. The one thing I noticed immediately is how tall it feels, the center of gravity is a little high. Once you get used to it, it does corner nicely enough. I´ve dragged peg a few times and it felt pretty good! The pegs are a little high for my taste, I´m 5´9´ and I can handle it about 80 miles before the knees start getting uncomfortable. I would DEFINITELY recommend this bike, it has been plenty reliable and fast enough for me.
