Review of the 1999 Moto Guzzi V11 Sport:Fantastic motorcycle |

I wanted an alternative to the big Japanese four or Ducati. | ||
| I realized that I would love this bike the moment I rode it home. Great torque, stable handling, great sounds, dynamite looking, no fairing to scratch! I have since personalized the bike with the following.(Carbon fiber front rotor, Guzzi titanium exhaust, carbon fender´s, dash, starter cover, alterantor cover, chin spoiler,carbon tank pad, bar end mirror, Ohlins front forks, Ohlins rear shock, K and N filter, Corbin gunfighter seat. I know it was pricey but the bike is a keeper. Some people loose a fortune trading bikes every couple of years. I have a fair bit into this V11 but in ten years I´ll still be happy! With soft luggage I have toured, and on my Sunday morning rides I have a blast on the back roads. Plus it´s real world performance that is within reach of most real riders and that´s more fun than riding around posing with some racer replica and hitting the brakes hard at every bend in the road! Reliability has been great, however I did change the relays to Bosche. Apperently the originals were not up to the task. I figured for 30 bucks I´d change them all. I fixed the vapour lock problem by wrapping the fuel pump in an insulating wrap(End of problem) Bottom line is that this bike makes me feel like getting up at 5am to go for a ride on Sunday´s. Nothing against other bikes(Japonese in particular) but they all feel like appliances not motorcycles, they have great engineering and reliability but they just don´t move the soul. Buy a Guzzi and love it for ever, and treat it like a best friend. |
