I own GT 650 2005 model just a bit under five years now. Quite happy with the bike and my new one is also Hyosung GT650N, 2007 model | ||||||
I bought new bike from dealer in 2005 and used it mostly from March till November, as long as roads condition in Russia and Norway allowed to do so. Bike has run 28000 km by now and made four summer journeys 2200-3600 km while in between was used as good work horse for commuting between home and office. I had only one major problem with the bike so far, valve drop, but that was ultimately my fault. I knew that I had fuel flow problem, but was still riding it on the edge, so the valve gave up damading frong cylinder. However it appeared to be easy to repair, parts were available from HYOSUNG and I fixed it even without workshop and without taking engine off from the bike. Fuel flow was resolved exactly as manual says: ´check fuel filter, check fuel pump and if did not help, replace fuel tank cock´. This was fuel cock which was causing problem in my case at high RPM. New cock costs 25 USD and available from HYO and Suzuki. Bike holds the line well and makes very nice controlled turns. Suspension works well even with factory settings. It goes nice and smooth in all RPM range (best from 6000 to 8000), little flatspot is noticeable at 4000 RPM. There is only one annoying thing - stiff gear shift when engine oil is heated up in traffic jams (something for HYO to work with). I am happy with the bike |
