I purchased mine for Dollars 175 dollars. It had a frozen transmission. I was 18 years old and it was 1978.

I ended up rebuilding the transmission with the help of a friend. I cleaned up the top end and put on new rings. It only had about 3k miles when I bought it. I had been tinkering with the fuel system for a few days. I couldn´t get it to prime the carb. Then all of a sudden, it came alive. I couldn´t believe the sound. The beautiful sound of ripping metal. It was not street legal at that point but I couldn´t resist and took it out for a ride. That may have been the most satisfying ride of my life. There was a winding valley road near my house. I could hear other bikes at times, hitting their throttle on the last long straightaway before they had to stop. That night as I hit the throttle myself I knew the locals were saying out loud, ´ What the hell is that´¿ I have picture of the last day i owned it doing a wheelie. | |
