Review of the 2004 Kawasaki KX 250 F:what a surprise |

I recently bought a 2004 KXF 250. This is the 1st 4 stroke I have ever had and I was really surprised at how much power it has. I can see why they replaced the KX 125 (and the KX 125 was one of my favorite bikes I ever had.) I am not used to the noise they make but I like the power. It doesn´t hit as quick as a 2 stroke but it´s torquey and can rev. The only diference I´ve noticed in my riding style is that sometimes it´s harder to get into a rythm in the woops. If you pull up short on the 1st one it´s hard to recover. But I´ve only had it a couple weeks. It slows down faster than a 2 stroke when you let off or down shift. I read reviews for the 2005 and 2006 when I was looking into this bike and they said how the new bike had alot more power so I was under the impression that mine would be a little sluggish. I´m very happy with the power. The handling is awesome. This bike does what you want it to do. I am coming off a KTM 200 SX and you have to fight that bike to turn so this is a dream by comparison. I am surprised at how easy the front tire comes up when you want to wheelie. No 125 pulls up like that unless you actually give it alot of body English. The suspension is a little soft though. I haven´t messed with it yet but it seems a little soft on jumps. And it is a little tricky to start. I haven´t adjusted anything yet but I have some dificulty starting it (both cold and hot.) Alot of times I have to push start it but it doesn´t take alot to pop this thing but still I would like to get that straightened out. BUt overall what a fun bike this is. I want to ride a 2005 or 2006 to see what improvements have been made but I´m satisfied with my 2004. |
