First time rider, first new bike, passed the safety course. I am very proud of her. Everyone should take a riders safety course, new and seasoned riders. | ||
Great bike for beginners! First off, the bike looks great! She gets lots of compliments. The bike is pretty light with a low center of gravity. The seat height is low enough so an average height person can plant both feet on the ground. Reaching for the bars is comfortable and controls are easy to operate. Love the “pass” trigger! I use this feature when I’m of sure about other vehicles at intersections or when oncoming traffic are eager to pass (my 2016 does not have this feature). The bike handles great, light and responsive. The upside down forks are very trick looking and a big improvement over the old ones. There is minimal adjustment for the suspension. This is due to cost reduction I’m sure so that’s ok. Brakes are awesome! Brake feel is very predictable and smooth. Lighting is good with led’s all around. Love the dual headlights. Turn signals and brake lamps are bright. The factory settings for the front brake and clutch are to high so I moved them down a bit. Rear brake pedal and shift pedal are in a good position, along with the foot pegs. The foot pegs used to be rubber but now are aluminum only. Better looking, but smaller. This is not an issue though. I noticed that the springs on the pegs is very weak. (Just a personal feel thing). Grips are comfortable and the front brake lever is adjustable. The windscreen works well, reflecting air around you. The front fender viberates a lot in the wind but doesn’t make any noise. I’m not sure why Honda has the clutch cable cross over the display select and enter buttons, it this improved when I lowered the levers. Display is good, with all the information you need as a beginner rider, gear indicator, rpm, and fuel with nice big speed digits. Seat is comfortable to me, but not very padded. This is due to the design I guess. The fuel range is ok and the bike is great on fuel (I’m getting around 70 mpg). Power is very predictable and smooth. Great for beginners who are fine tuning their throttle inputs. The drive chain is quit as they can be noisy. Tires seem good with decent traction for cornering, braking and acceleration. ABS brakes are a bonus for anyone but can’t be turned off. The bike is very easy to ride, responsive and comfortable. Now for the looks, this has to be one of the nicest looking bike in its class. The fairing is just wide enough to give it the big bike looks. People love this thing! I love this thing! The bike really needs a pipe to make it sound better and give it a more torquey feel. Honda, as usual has done a great job of this bike. I will enjoy it for years (or until I get a 650). Thanks to Honda and their design team, and production and assembly also. No issues so far. Just over 1000km now. Ok I got to go for a ride. Be safe and keep both wheels on the ground. Thanks from SilverStaker! |
