I sold my Honda 750 Shadow Ace and bought a Yamaha Majesty. What a smooth and comfortable ride.

I am a 54 year old female rider. I found my Honda 750 Shadow Ace to be top heavy which was always on the back of my mind when stopping or moving the bike about without the engine engaged. My Majesty feels so light and manageable in comparison. The center of gravity is very low on the Majesty. It has such a smooth and confortable ride on roads that present some roughness or potholes. There is some engine noise when starting from a stopped position, but when cruising, the noise abadtes substantially. On my Honda, I used to have considerable updraft which lifted my swing-down face shield. On the Majesty, there is no updraft. The air moves smoothly around the leg shields and windshield so that the swing-down face shield is not buffetted by wind at all. There is very little air moving around a rider´s legs and chest. The only noticeable wind is from over the windshield, but a helmet with face-shield takes care of that. The Yamaha is a joy to ride. I would have stayed with Honda, if Honda had a mid-sized scooter around 400 cc, but I am well pleased with my Majesty. The only negative comment I can make is that the seat height is a little bit much for my short 5 foot 5 inch height. I have to tippy-toe when stopping. I have considered purchasing an after-market seat that was lower by a couple of inches, but I have yet to find such an accessory. I haven´t made an out of city trip as of yet. That will have to wait until next spring, as I live in the cold north country of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. | |
