Review of the 2004 Hyosung GT 125 Comet:The 2nd best bike I ever rode |

My 1st bike was a Honda NSR 125R-K (1990) which was amazing but my comet is in many ways alot better. | ||
I use mine mostly for getting to work riding through city centre traffic, and its fine for fuel consumption (around £7 a week to fill it up)handling, acceleration and it basicaly does what I need it to, when Im filtering through traffic my mirrors are a bit too high and keep hitting mirrors of people cariers, 4x4s, trucks and vans. Mine doesnt have a centre stand which I`m anoyed about as I might have to buy padock stands before doing some basic maintenance. I recently made an arse of my test on it doing the u-turn bit as the turning circle is bollocks compared to a lot of learner bikes. Sofar it has been very reliable and has started first time everytime even in winter, although Ive only had it for a year and done 10000km. Ive spent my holidays on it touring Scotland and Englands A-roads which it loves those country corners and it doesnt mind being ridden for 12hours at a time (my old NSR you could only sit on that for about an hour before getting a numb bum) and the seat and riding positions comfy enough to sit that long which makes it as good as my couch. If I was allowed I`m not sure Id take a passenger on it as I`ve almost fallen off on corners just with 24 cans of Tennents on the back but that might be a lack of skill on my part but you can get a good lean on the corners and scrape those knees on a good one. The accelerations not bad with my clock I fitted last night I got 0-60 in 9 secs (my old NSR could do it in 6.8)which includes the second it took to take my hand off the bar and push the button so could probly do better, but Ive only hit its top speed of 80mph (my NSR could easily cruise at its top speed of 105mph) a few times as it takes ages after it hits 60 and when it gets there it sounds like its about to explode so dont do that at home kids!(your mum wont like the skid marks on the carpet) I dont think it can wheelie or stoppie or fancy tire smoking burnouts as ive tried many a time but yet again that might be my own lack of skill. All said and done I do love it but not riden much to compare it to, its still my 2nd favorite bike. |
