I HAVE 2 BANDITS FROM THIS YEAR. I HAD A BRITISH BIKE 955ccs THAT I THOUGHT IT WAS IT! SORRY, IT WOULD NOT BE FAIR TO MENTION THE BRITISH MANUFACTURER. WHEN RIDDING THIS WONDERFUL BANDIT 1250 S FEELS LIGHT BUT WITH SUCH HUGE TORQUE IT´S HARD TO BELIEVE THE POWER FROM EVERY GEAR. IT COMES ON RIGHT AWAY. RIDDING ON 6TH AT 45 MPH IF YOU OPEN IT UP IT CLIMBS TO 100 MPH IN JUST SECONDS SMOOTHLY. I FIND MYSELF NOT HAVING TO SHIFT DOWN TO GAIN TORQUE ON THE TWISTIEST ROADS IN NORTH CAROLINA WITH THIS BANDIT. WHEN RIDDING ON THE HWY IT JUST WANTS TO GO. I CRUISE @ SPEED LIMIT AND IT FEELS THAT IS JUST ROLLING SOFTLY. RIDDING IN THE CITY FEELS LIKE A MUCH LIGHTER BIKE, MAYBE DUE TO THE TORQUE THAT IT GENERATES ON ANY HIGH GEAR. NO CONSTANT SHIFTING IS THE BEST PART OF THIS BIKE. I´M NOT SAYING I STAY IN ONE GEAR, NO. WHAT I´M SAYING IS THAT YOU ARE NOT PULLING THE CLUTCH EVERY 2-3 SECONDS. THIS BIKE FOR THE BACK ROADS FEELS EXHILARATING TO SHIFT UP, IT JUST CLIMBS THE MPH IN SUCH SMOOTHNESS THAT I FEEL LIKE OPENING IT UP BUT THERE ARE SPEED LIMITS TO BE OBEYED MOST OF THE TIME. THE BREAKING IS EXCELLENT AND THAT IS WITHOUT THE ABS, THE ABS MODEL PRICIER IN THE USED MARKET I´M SURE BREAKS A LITTLE SAFER BUT NOT NECESSARILY FASTER OR BETTER. THE BIKE BREAKS IN A STRAIGHT LINE AND WITHOUT HESITATION ON DEMAND AT ANY SPEED. STRAIGHT STEERING IS PERFECT AND TURNING ON IT WITH S LIGHT LEAN DOES IT WONDERFULLY AND AS TIGHT AS YOU LIKE. THE HEIGHT OF THE SEAT IS LOWER THAN MOST OTHER BIKES OF THIS TYPE. SO FOR AVERAGE SIZE PERSON (5´8´-5´11´) BOTH FEET ON THE TARMAC. IT EASY TO LOWER THE BANDIT ANOTHER 1´ OR MORE WITH BRACKETS. THE COLOR RED AND BLACK BOTH ARE OF HIGH QUALITY PAINT NO DOUBT. THE ERGONOMICS OF THE BIKE ARE GREAT. UP RIGHT POSITION FAIRLY WELL. ALL CONTROLS ARE EASY TO USE AND REACHABLE INSTANTLY. THEY COME WITH SIDE and CENTER STANDS. VERY USEFUL THE CENTER STAND FOR OIL CHANGES OR OTHER WORK INVOLVING A STURDY MOUNT. EASE OF OIL CHANGE MAKES THIS TASK A SIMPLE MATTER. 9,000 MILES AND ZERO OIL CONSUMPTION. THERE IS HARDLY ANY MAINTENANCE NEED IT ON THIS BULLET PROOF MOTOR. USES LITTLE GAS FOR THE SIZE OF THE ENGINE AND IT CARRIES ENOUGH GAS TO DO ALL DAY IF NOT KICKING IT WAY UP ALL DAY. NOT MUCH NEED TO ACTUALLY RUN IT HIGHER THAN 6K RPM (IF THAT) SINCE THERE IS SO MUCH TORQUE COMING FROM THE WELL DESIGN 1255cc POWERFUL ENGINE. TURNS ON A DIME AND LEAN IT AS MUCH AS YOU LIKE. JUST LOOK OUT NOT TO OVERPOWER ON A TIGHT TURN. ALL AROUND THIS BIKE FITS ALL RIDERS FROM SPORT CRUISERS TO AGGRESSIVE RIDERS. TWO UP HAS NO PROBLEM GETTING UP THERE IN A JIFFY! HAS LITTLE ROOM FOR STORAGE UNDER SEAT BUT i STRAP ON A BACK PACK ON ME OR ON THE BIKE AND I´M GONE ALL DAY. SEATING POSITION IS GREAT IF YOU DON´T LIKE BEING CROUCHING DOWN ON THE FRONT END LIKE SPORT BIKES. I CAN HANDLE LONGER DISTANCES AND THAT I COULDN´T WITH MY SPORT BIKES HAD BEFORE. I RECOMMEND IT HAVING 2 BANDITS OF THE SAME YEAR AND 10 OTHER BIKES PRIOR TO THESE TWO. ENJOY AND HOPE THIS HELPS. | |
