I got this bike brand new when i was 16. I had the choice between this and the aprilia rs50 but i see lots of people on that bike so i thought i´d b different. Firstly this bike looks great. It has a very aggressive posture and people are always shocked when i tell them it´s onli a 50cc bike. Starting up the bike in the cold is a bit of a problem sometimes but after a minute or two the bike is warmed up and ready to go. I live in a very hilly area and when the bike was restricted it was embarasingly slow. I even had bikers pulling up next to me offering to help as they thought i was breakin down (see what i mean about embarasingly slow). However, if u live in a town or city i really can´t see that keeping this bike restricted would be a problem. I on the other hand descided to derestrict mine and to b honest when i picked up the bike and drove it with all the extra power i nearly fell off (another embarasing moment). I really didn´t expect that much of a kick in the powerband. After you get used to it though it is so much fun. This isn´t the most reliable bike in the world and i have had a few problems with it. Some parts tend to drop off and after only a few months most of the metal parts have gone rusty. I´ve had a race with a few rs50´s on this bike and i´d definately say this bike accelerates faster but the rs seems to hav a higher top speed. Not totally sure how fast this bike goes since the speedo only goes up to 50mph and it goes beyond that. It doesn´t go much faster than that though. One thing i have learnt about this bike though is that it draws alot of attention to you. Probally because of the scream of the 2 stroke engine but it looks stunning and i get told that alot. I would recommend this bike to anyone interested in a 50cc sports replica who wants something different to the aprilia. |
