I just picked up my first bike, and am happy to report it is a Suzuki SV650S. I looked at a number of other 600cc inline4 sport bikes, but the horsepower and other reviews scared me. | ||||||
I also looked at some smaller bikes and realized that I would quickly outgrow them (ninja 250 and 500). Also I am a fair size 6´1´ and 225lbs. and those bikes felt small when I sat on them. I started going to dealerships, to find bikes that I liked the look of, I had a budget in mind as well, and was not out to break the bank. I read a ton of reviews after I narrowed it down to a few. The Yamaha FZ6, Honda 599, even the Suzuki bandit 600. All the reviews and comparisons came back to this bike coming out on top. I had the opportunity to take a ride on one, and was impressed with the power, as well as the forgiving nature of the bike. I could accelerate with most of my friends on 600CC inline 4´s, but the power came on much more linear, with no crazy surprises. I rode a Honda CBR600 right afterward, and realized I knew which bike to get. Needless to say I am now the proud owner of the Suzuki SV650S. I would recommend this bike for anyone looking to get into sport riding, but not wanting to jump on a crazy crotch rocket out of the gate. Oh yeah, my insurance is just over half what my friends pay, and they have been riding for a lot longer, and most of them have clean records. That´s my 2 cents, and you can keep the change. |
