Should be a cool starter bike, but has problems... | ||||||
Polini motor in Sherco frame. Uses trials bicycle wheels and tires. Bicycle hand brake perch and lever. Drum brakes front and rear. Bought the bike used, had leaking fuel tank. Ordered new tank which started leaking in same manner after three months. Obtained ´redesigned tank´ from Ryan Young Products (good service, thanks!) but redesign has clearance issues between fuel valve and frame. Fuel valve handle fell off. Cant get spokes for wheels. Can´t get tires. Replaced front brake lever perch with real motorcycle item after crash broke original bicycle-sourced perch. Just found out engine mounting tab on lower frame is broken. My daughter was really enjoying riding this bike and was rapidly improving her trials skills, but we can no longer trust the bike. Sherco needs to commit to a full redesign in the same size range but with real motorcycle components. |
