I bought a 1989 gs 1000 in june of 2004 it had 100,000 miles on it rebuilt the engine new tires etc. have put around 5000 miles since then it is a good riding bike also changed the seat put on a corbin easy on my old ass the bike is a to tall for me 30 in inseam other than that it is great.

all i have to say about the bike is above except that they have a habit of burning up a driveshaft every thirty thousand miles you can not grease it but there is a company in ft lauderdale fl. that makes on you can lubricate lost the name of it though
have a great day
