Wasnt expecting to have a motorcylce, but glad I did. Was fun for two years and now is being restored ( atleast that what I ve been telling myself for the last 7 years ). Started sometimes, sometimes it didnt. Glad it had a kickstart and the electric start. The stator seemed to not like to charge. The motor ran good, but seemed to lose power over the years. The bike had sat almost its entire life from 1975 till the mid 90´s in a barn with several other motorcycle. Was in all original excellent shape. Original air in the tires too. Which like an idiot I put 3000 miles on those tires the first year I owned it. After awhile I noticed its lack of power and did a compression test. It seemed good. But I figured it was in the carbs. So I rebuild them. No dice. Ended up being a bad spark plug wire ( actually the boot ). I replaced the motor with another same year low mileage motor. Easy remove and replace. Parts are ebay cheap. With the chrome and polishing we offer, I ll have this bike is better then showroom condition ( someday ). Handles like anything huilt in the seventies, accelerates like a 10 speed bicycle. Vibrates like a Massage chair on full power. Brakes like you better leave plenty of space between you and the object you will hit. Mileage is alright, but its all worth it when you thumb the starter or kick the lever and the twin rumbles to life. Nothing sounds quite as good as the putt putt putt of the cb 450 as far as small cc bikes go.
