I can´t say enough about this bike...

I bought mine in 1988 used, for about Dollars 1,500.00 That was a good buy at the time...A guy my dad worked with collected Hondas... He needed the money to put down on a Honda Hurricane, which had just come out...Anyway, it was just a plain ´blast´ to own this bike...It´s not that it did any thing great, but it did everything you asked it to and then some...I actually owned it twice, I had sold it in 1991 to a private owner and found it later again on a used car lot...Top speed 116M.P.H.¿ That sounds about right. When you took it to the limit, boy, would it act like it was going to shake apart!!! The Speedo and Tach would bounce all over,...Definitely remember that...They offered a fairing kit for it, but I never owned it...Passing trucks on the interstate was hell... It just wasn´t heavy enough to take that blast of air coming off a big rig...I´ve seen quarter-mile times in the High 14´s and Low 15´s ...That sounds about right... If I remember, that´s about what a Kawasaki 454LTD would do also...It was easy maintenance, since it was shaft drive...But I thought that second over-drive was a bit to steep, given the low horsepower...You had to down-shift anyway to pull a hill...You could take a passenger with ease, as long as it wasn´t a long distance...It wasn´t a Ninja, it had a V-Twin and wasn´t really meant to rev all that high...It handled fairly well for a ´cruiser´ at that time because it wasn´t very heavy, even with a full tank of gas. I loved the paint scheme, even though I don´t normally like Red...My dad always liked Black trucks with a Red interior, so you can see why he liked it...It was like a Metallic dark Red and all the engine parts were like blacked-out chrome...It was my second street bike and I just loved the hell out of that model...Wouldn´t mind to have a low mileage one now!!! | |
