I fell in love with the Vulcan 2000 right off the bat. I have nothing but love for this machine. Incredible looks, torque out the ying-yang, and a road feel no other super heavy cruiser (over 1500cc) can match. I would buy it again .... as a matter of fact I did just that recently. | ||||||
I got the bike new in November of 2005 and put about 13k miles on it as a daily rider to and from work and for fun on the weekends. Yes, I have an incredible wife who lets me have some awesome toys. I did all the additions myself including windshield, saddle bags, Mustang seats, sissy bar for the Missus, plenty-o-chrome, crash bar, highway pegs, heated suit controller, and 3´ Big Straights exhaust with a Power Commander. Absolutely love this bike ...... and I have had them all (Goldwing, Valkyrie, V-Star 1100, V2K, and a Yamaha FJR). It is a very heavy bike and does feel like it resists tight turns .... I mean the thing is practically a gyroscope. But once you get used to it, WOW! Can´t mistake this beast for a Harley, they have nothing like this and you can tell these from a mile away with that ALIEN looking headlamp. I think it looks great and the smoothness on the road has to be experienced to be appreciated. I actually traded the V2K in for the FJR in May of 2007 in order to help my daughter get rid of her V-Star 650. The dealer who took the V2K in actually took it home and kept it from being sold at his shop. So I bought it back from him again in April 2008. He had only put 50 miles on it in the year he had it. Feels great to have her back in the driveway again next to the FJR. Now I have the Big Cruiser for the 2-up rides and the FJR for sporting around town. I just wish Kawasaki would offer the headlamp nacelle again like they did in 2005. The new ones are different and do not look as original or as good. By the way, I am 6´-3´ and go about 250, so this bike does need some muscle to keep it under control. Be smart, if you think it is too big for you, then it probably is. Ride safe, ride well, and ride like they can´t see you because most of the time they don´t. |
