I bought my S40 3 months ago and I´ve had a blast on it. It´s nimble, torquey, low maintenance and cheap to insure. It´s a little small for big guys but if you reverse the risers then the handlebars are a nice reach. I´m 6´1´ and 240 pounds but it scoots my weight along briskly with lots of low-end and mid-range torque. It handles well and is stable on the highway. Complaints? It´s jetted a little lean so it backfires when it´s cold and you downshift or chop the throttle but I altered the jetting to fix that. Also, 5th gear is really short so it winds out pretty high around 65 MPH. I haven´t topped it out yet but I hear these go about 88 MPH. I paid Dollars 4,399. for mine and it was well worth it. I´ve gotten 50 MPG so far but lighter riders should do better, especially after full break-in. Great beginner bike, although this is my 6th bike in 31 years of riding. | |
