Best 600cc bang for the buck on the market

Yamaha really did their homework when they redesigned the FZ6 from 2003.

The 2004 FZ6 is a wonderful package that includes the likes of a sportbike, sport touring bike and even as a commuter. The power band on this bike has a wide range and lacks the sharp jolts in power normally associated with the metric fours. In essence, this bike loves to be turned and begs to have the throttle twisted. The one low point I have found is the transmission. While it works like a fine switch watch at rpms above 5,000, at the lower rpm ranges one must be sure they get a good snap to the shifter or things hang up. An example would be driving in town and coming to stops. If your not in first when you stop, you may not get it there without playing with the clutch a bit. This however is easy to get used to and other than that, the bike is an awesome piece of machinery and well suited to many tasks. I would not however recommend this bike to a new rider as the throttle is very sensitive and the bike has no problem bringing the front end up in the first four gears. Additionally, the brakes on this bike are very powerful and the rider who is unaware of this in a panic stop may find themselves flying over the bars. All in all, this is the best Dollars 7,000 I have ever spent on 2 wheels....
