A beautyfull bike with the character of the late seventies and the technical standart of modern motorcycles. | ||||||

Now after 170 000 km including around 30.000 km race speed at the Nürburgring -Nordschleife without any real technical problem , I can say the ´90 Ducati 900 SS is one of the best bikes Ducati ever created. The engine is a real replica of the Cagiva Elefant works racer witch was used very successfull in the Paris Dakar rally. The engines management with the same carburator by Weber and digital ignition system by Magneti Marrelli is of top quality and no other 900 SS engine is running so smooth and powerfull. Only the exhaust (A04/B04 by Termignioni) has lowered the 88 HP of the rally engine to 83 HP to get street conform noises. All parts of this bike instead of the electric starter are made in Italy and so this is the last real italian Ducati. The Weber 44 carburator needs carefull adjustment. If it works correct there are no problems. I am very satisfied with a ´90 900 SS with Marzochi, Verlicci, Weber, Magneti Marelli and Termignioni original parts. Best regards |
