It was only a demo ride,but I got the idea. | ||||||
A Honda dealer asked me if I wanted to test ride a VFR,so I went on and ride that thing,let me tell you it bothers me how much technology can go into a bike.That thing has a coupling system between the front and rear brake that operates quite well,(when working),but I rather have the control myself,I guess you can turn it off if you want. The bike does not impress me with a great amount of torque down low,its very smooth and linear,all wich is very convenient when used for comuting,but beware,after 7,000 the secondary valves beguin to work and things get much better,you can listen to the valves as they kick in,and the whirling of the motor is impressing,so is the acceleration,its 100+ HP and they are delivered with a smooth feeling. You can barely notice you are up to a 110MPH,wich I did in third gear,just for the fun of listening to the revs.Since it was not my bike ,I tried to whelie the thing,but it was impossible,not even in 1rst the bike has torque to surprise you,I couldnt loft the front end of the bike at any time. Handling on the curves was very good,it was almost as if the bike was mine,very predictable,very sweet experience,especialy the smoothnes of the engine,helps a lot in the throtle transition in corners. Braking was awsome,I went from 110 to a safer velocity,with absolutly no stress at all.The brakes are very appropiate for the power of the machine,IMHO. Would I buy it? I,naturally get scared at bikes(or cars) that are ´too intelligent´,too dependant on the computer functions. The control panel was digital and I swear that thing can almost give your horoscpe!!!temperature,RPM,outside temperature,speed,everithing was avalible on the pannel,everithing conputer controlled.So that may be a good thing or a bad thing,depending on your point of view. I rather have crude bike that is 100% reliable than a complicated bike that will give trouble when the time comes...just my opinion. |
