In the garage sat my VFR 800 vtec with all the bells and whistles which is a keeper (well for the moment anyway), and my trustee DRZ400 SM with MZ wheels on, looking at the DRZ realising the seat is only compairable to ditting on a piece of 2´by2´ and the impenging annual Wales trip is comming up I thought of the XT660Z and the comfi looking seat, off to the internet to see whats written it looks good so off to the dealers and before I knew what I was doing I was paying for it, off I set on the 30 or so mile ride home and could not believe it the bike feels great, plenty of real world power for a bike of this sort on the motorway 80 mph cruising no problems at all this bike would easily go over the ton should you wish, handling surprisingly good seat comfi, handlebars great mirrors good no real vibrations that would affect me in any way, at home ordered and fitted TKC80 knobblie tyres and it still rides great have done 300 miles so far with about 80 being offroad and I cant fault it in any way at all if anything the seat height is maybe a little too tall for me at 5 foot 8 but not enough to bother me even offroad if anyone is thinking of a bike like this give it a try you will buy it all bikes are a compromise a DRZ will be better offroad a VFR better touring and an R1 for going bonkers but for a bit of everything this is it, congrats Yamaha youve done it a bike that car really do anything | |
