I have owned my ZZR 1400 for 2 months now and have covered over 5000 miles in that time! So i feel i can submit an open review of the bike. Unlike Matt who´s simple review is based on what he has read on wind tunnel tests between the Hayabusa and ZZR1400. Keep on reading magazines Matt and leave the tests and reviews to people who ride bikes! I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the ZZR1400. I have to say it has exceeded all my expectations. It is true what they say it lacks some grunt under 5,000rpm. However get it over 5000rpm and the acceleration in 2nd and third gear is eye popping! On the motorway it is easy enough to control getting you from A to B more like a guided missile than a motorbike at high speeds! Lane changes are easy peasy and you can give the brakes a squeze with the assurance that your speed in a matter of seconds will be within the legal limit and the bike does not go out of shape! On winding A roads it is a real pleasure. Given its size at just over 200kg it feels more like a sports bike with the way it handles. It gives me the confidence to take corners far more quicker than on the R6 and Busa. It is not cheap to buy and it is not cheap to run the engine does like a drink and out of a tank approximately £18 I get 170 miles so with my Journeys I am filling up every other day! Having said that I am not in any hurry to part with it! I would reccommend this bike to anyone who has long journeys on their bike and also wants something that on a weekend they can get on the twists and turns and really enjoy the handling and smooth delivery of power! |
