From the lack on info I am finding about this bike, I suspect that I must be the initial owner to actually testdrive this particular bike. I am the test pilot. | ||||||
I got this bike from EZRider Motorsports in Northampton, MA. I had a Tank 150 Touring prior to this. The reason I got it is it was cheap, had more power than what I had, and I wanted a motorcycle to be easier to repair. I probably wouldn´t had gotten this if I didn´t have a local mechanic who could work on it. My reaction is mixed: It does have the power I was looking for. That impresses me. I am at least able to ride on interstate if I have to. Will go to 70ish, though it feels like it´s going to fall apart at that speed. 60 is probably the comfortable crusing speed. Also, I´m pleased to report it gets 70 mpg on the average, just 10 less than the 150. So, it´ll save gas. However, I´m sorry to say it is completely falling apart after only one month. First few days, speedometer cable broke. Next week, brake nut came off, no rear brake. Third week, it fell over due to poor kickstand design, lost right mirror and clutch broke off (fortunately managed to screw it back on to drive out of there). Broke front right light. Except for the main body and engine, it´s all very cheap plastic. Guaranteed to break. Handle with care! Need to keep fastening nuts, rattles apart easily. OK, so far these are relatively minor and dealer has been good to replace them at no charge. I think I would had shelled out extra thousand for a Honda Rebel next time around, though. It´s too bad, because many people have come up admiring the bike; it does have an attractive design, a reason I got it. Tank Motorsports has not answered any of my queries; that´s lousy service. A few weeks late with title, for ex. I´m still not sure where to get parts, looking for alternatives. If Tank would put some extra effort to make a more durable design, they could have a bestseller here to rival Honda Rebel. |
