This is a great motorcycle. I live in a small town with a lot of Harley Heads. They all like to give me grief about my Rice Burner. But, after two years, I like my bike just as well as the first day I bought it. | ||||||
Comfort. First of all, you´re gonna need a new seat. The stock jobber is a pain in the arse. I got a Saddlemen seat, which was not only more comfortable, but lowered the seat considerably. I´m only 5´6´ and I am glad to have a bike that lets me have both feet on the ground. The bike is a little cramped for a second rider. I usually just take my kids to school, so it´s not a big deal. But don´t plan on taking your hunny to Sturges and have her in a good mood when you get there. Performance. I live in the heart of the Colorado Rockies. I am always riding at elevations from 4500 to 11,000 feet. This bike has never given me a problem. It goes right up the mountains, even riding two up. The fuel injection lets the thing start right up, morning or evening, hot or cold. Styling. I´ve put about Dollars 2000.000 worth of stuff on my bike. I´ve never had a problem finding accessories, and everything I´ve ever bought simply bolted right on. I get a lot of good complements on the look of my bike. In fact, most people think it´s a Harley. Fuel. I get 45-50mpg, and I´m fairly aggressive on the throttle. I use the cheapest gas I can get, and never had a problem with it. I´ve been happy with the economy. Maintenance. There´s nothing to maintain. I change my own oil, and it takes me about 15 minutes. You will need to have the valves checked, which is kind of expensive ( Dollars 300). Beyond that, it´s free of problems. Value. I was discouraged that the bike depreciated so dramatically in the first few months. Nonetheless, I have no reason to sell it. I paid half what I would have paid for a Sportster, and I like this bike a lot better. I might have considered buying a used Suzuki, but I´m still happy with it. Bottom Line. If you just want a nice clean bike with good performance, and good price, buy this bike. Don´t let the Hog riders intimidate you. This is a better bike than the Harleys. |
