06 Yamaha FZ1 Fazer post 2500 miles

Fuel economy on fwy improved drastically from 39mpg to 49/50mpg at fwy speed. However, around town economy still SUCKS @ 35mpg! Added Laminar Lip to the stock shield which draastically reduced buffeting...worth the Dollars . Stock seat begins to HURT after 50 miles and just gets worse from there. Spencer Custom Seats (FL) seat mod ( Dollars 75 for both rider/passngr) is again, WORTH all the Dollars . Below 6k rpm, it´s VERY civilized and easy to ride. Above 6k, off/on throttle glitch is pretty severe and IF not expecting can get you in trouble. The suspension with fully adjustible front / rear is great, but rear spring is too hard for my 170lbs frame...the rear ride is jolting over all bumps on the road and will beat you up. It´s one hell of a ´sportbike´, don´t let other tells you that it´s a ´sport-touring´ bike. With 4.75 gal capacity, don´t expect much riding range. | |
