Review of the 1979 Honda CX 500 Custom:

Rock steady fun!

Purchased new in 1979, my CX500 Custom provided year-round transportation and never let me down.

Living in Brownsville Texas, and commuting to Kingsville Texas for over a year gave me the rare opportunity to thoroughly test the bike in all types of weather and conditions. Trips from Kingsville, where the full-time band I was in was based, saw the bike, my wife and me traveling from the center of Texas to all points south, east and west. I drove the bike stock for less than two months before adding a Vetter fairing, and could not have been happier. What a well designed machine! When a couple of scares prompted me to sell it, it had over 50k miles with not a bit of trouble. Sure miss that bike.
