Have had my Sabre since Labor Day 2006. Have put 8000 miles on her, changed the oil twice and replaced the rear tire and done nothing else. She has 11000 miles on her now. this is my first bike. I am 60 years old and wonder why I waited so long. | ||||||
At first, the bike was too big, I thought. but the seller was gracious enough to let me get used to her before I made up my mind. It took a couple of weeks, but soon I was lovin´ it. Now, after 8000 miles and two motorcycle courses, I am one with the machine. I have ridden her in all seasons and in all weather. I feel total safe on this machine. It is heavy enough, that it grabs the road in rainy conditions, holds a curve (gone up on the pegs, both sides a few times and recovered easily-love that ´look, press and roll technique´!) and doesn´t slip away in gravel (can center the bike easily). Its fast enough that I can maneuver in any traffic situation Its big enough that people see me (Of course I have learned how to be visible! Location, location, location!). Its maneuverable enough to get around those Walmart parking lots (offset those hips!). I have a back condition but I never have any pain when riding. I have learned to correct my posture and how to exercise my back by rolling the pelvis to splint those core muscles which helps a lot. The seat is to die for! The only thing I would add are the highway pegs for my feet for those long hauls. Anybody need a used car¿ |
