This is my first Harley Davidson motorcycle. I´m 50 years old and have been riding for 40 years. My last bike was a Yamaha R6. Making the jump from sport bike to cruser was a big decission for me but I wanted a bike the wife could ride on with me. I looked at the Roadstar and the M109R. My frinds talked me into test riding the Fatboy before making my decission. I love the new back tire and the six speed trans. The test ride was on a very cold morning so the ride was short and sweet. The wife like the Fatboy but I had problems with the price and the attitude of the salesman. If you don´t buy it someone else will this week. I purchased the bike about two months ago and have put about 500 miles on it. I like the ride quality and the handling at slow speeds. I like the fact that all the parts are metal not plastic. I don´t like the heat from the motor when stopped or the clunk for the trans when shifting gears. I been having problems with the starter making a loud pop when the starter enguages the flywheel. I have noticed a noise comimg from the rear for the bike at speed. The dealer will address both problems this week. Harley has a recall on the fuel injection due to lean adjustment. The rear exhaust pipe has turned blue due to the lean problem and the dealer said no recall on the pipes yet. I wanted to install a set of pipes on it but the dealer said it would volid my waranty unless they install then at 1400.00 dollars. What a crock. I still like the bike but don´t know if I would have spent that kind of money if I knew what I know now.
