If there was only chance to have one bike, make mine a Kawasaki KLR-650

This bike feels kinda torquey, and it has lots of midrange pulling power.I have logged 2,000 miles on it lately, and ,even though its a 98´ bike,it still feels pretty strong,I carry my girlfriend and it makes almost no diference,I can travel hundreds of miles a day over twisty country roads, where it will give fits to other motorcycles,it blasts from the curves very well and cornering in the road is very good.In the dirt, its a little too much for me(5´8´.155 lbs),I have a KDX-200 for those chores, though, with the right tires,it can get thru some pretty good trails, just dont drop it,as it is mighty heavy, compared to a true dirt bike.
Crusin the highway is possible,as mine will do 75MPH(indicated by speddometer, its known to have a 10% error) @ 4,500 rpm roughly, and I can dominate the higway against cars easily. The only time when you feel slow,is when faced to a Hayabusa or some other sportbike over the freeway, there you will get smoked,as the KLR starts to feel a little unconfortable at around 100 MPH,while the Hayabusa might still be on third gear. But the KLR will even hold its own in the twisties with 600 class sport bikes, and it will roast any Harley or Japanese copycats in handling thru corners. It will NOT be as confortable, though, after 4 hours on the bike, you start to feel unconfortable.
So,you see this is a jack of all trades,it does not climb like a KTM250,it does not fly like a CBR1000,it is not as confortable as a Dyna Wide Glide, but it will be there for whathever you might want to use it.The amount of punishment this beast can take is unbelivable, its very reliable.I have had nothing but fun, traveling the countryside with my beloved Kawie.
