Review of the 1996 Suzuki VS 1400 GLP Intruder:Well worth the ride! |

this bike is a fun ride. The pure power of the 1400 intruder is outstanding. This bike is easy to customize and looks good. I´ve had Harley riders look at mine and ask what model of Harley it is! | ||||||

I´ve owned a 96 1400 Intruder for five years. Cons.. The clutch tends to slip because of the power of the engine. The small gas tank is good for 200km or 120mi, if you´er not on the throttle too hard. The front air filter is HARD to change out. The horn isn´t much of a horn if you´er travelling at highway speeds. No tach. Pros.. This bike is a good cruiser for around town or dressed up for the long haul. As my every day ride it goes to work and did the 6800km round trip to Sturgis easy. There is alot of aftermarket parts for customizing the 1400. On mine, forward controls to stretch out the legs, a five gal tank to stretch out the road. With the new tank I added a dash with a tach. The clutch problem is fixable with heavy duty springs and hardened bolts. This bike has power plus. I´ve ridden Harley 80 and 88 cu in. bikes and the Intruder still has more raw power. Don´t get me wrong I´d like to get a HD but why, when I have a big twin w/ loud pipes, custom paint and even HD riders look at it and think it´s a Harley¿ Cornering with the Intruder is good, not as effortless as a 03 Road King. This is not a fast bike. Zero to one hundred is good, 105 mph maybe but that´s it, thanks to a govenor that I don´t know of anyone that´s gotten around it. I would recommend the Intruder to my brother, wait, I did and he bought one too! If you want a big twin and don´t want to go broke buying one, look at the intruder. There is alot of Help on line for the bike too. Just search Suzuki Intruder. I´d give this bike 9 out of 10. (One off for the govenor) |
