I didn´t buy mine new ( it had 1600 miles on it -two years old ) I´ve had it ever since and I don´t want a new bike !

Sure the new 600´s are more powerful and faster in the right hands ; but over the years this bike has been with me and never , ever disappointed me - ever ! It handles very well , even considering it weighs over 500 pounds. Some things I´ve done to it that I recommend , #1 junk the stock exhaust and get a header; it will warn-up much faster and drops a bunch of pounds ! #2 keep good tires on it ; I recently did a ton of research and pit a set of Maxis M-6102 and 6103 if you can still find them there a good match ! I also have a K and N air filter on it ( a good investment) , and I converted the ball bearings over to tapered roller bearings - you have to machine down the steering stem about an inch or it won´t fit properly !. The only issues I have with it is it does foul the plugs ( they have very weak ignition systems )How is it to own ..¿ It´s a great bike ! You can use it to tour , and it loves to be pushed hard through corners, and ride it hard if you like ; it can haul-ass. It´s a great all around bike ; and I love the way it looks , the big polished silver engine ad´s a big dose of real personality you just don´t get in most modern bikes ! | |
