I bought a 81 GL500i, it\´s in pretty good shape overall, but the previous owner seems to have disassembled the fairing at some point and put it back together with a few bits missing. I\´ve fixed most of the probs, but one that has me stumped is the headlight assembly. The lamp is aimed way too low. The adjuster knob on mine doesn\´t do anything, just spins freely. If I push on the lamp it moves back under tension from the adjustor spring, pushing the knob with it, but it\´s just pushing against the adjustor shaft - they\´re not connected. No matter how I try to thread the adjuster shaft, it doesn\´t take. Can this be fixed without disassembly? How? If not, how do I get it apart?
