Replacing a footpeg
WNBJ said 2008-08-21 01:41
I purchased a 1990 Intruder 1400 about one month ago. I know, this is a site for a 1995 model, but I think the parts are the same as a 1990. The shifter side footpeg dropped while I was riding it( bolt broke) and I ordered repacement parts from a local Suzuki dealer. To be sure I got at least one set of the correct parts, I went on line and ordered parts also. Parts from both supply sources were identical. The bolt I received that goes through the hole in the cradle and into the threaded back side of the casting after passing through the footpeg frame hole will not fit. the hole in the casting is counter-sunk for a bolt with a head teh same diameter as thed shank of the bolt. The bolt I got from the dealer source has a larger bolt head than the hole in the bottom end casting. Maybe I have an aftermarket set up. If anyone´s had a similar problem and has a solution, e-mail me.
