RE: oil leak and smoke normal for rebuilt motor????
JD said 2005-09-22 22:16
BSA´s are notorious for oil leaks. When I rebuilt my engine, I literally had puddles on the garage floor for a while. Make sure that all your gaskets are sealed and everything is tightened down to the right pressure. The smoke is normal for a while because the piston rings have to be broken in. Until then, the pistons may leak a little oil, thus producing the smoke. It is super important that you break in the engine correctly.
