I have just bought an H1 and in the future I am going to have to put it into running order. I know I have bitten off a fair bit but I think these can be awfully nice bikes. I have never owned one. It is a basket case actually, a very nice running H1 motor, H2 frame, Rickman bars, spoked wheels, drag slick, nice original camel back tank, etc. The shortage of easy-to-find parts doesn´t bother me, but I am without ignition. I have bought it from a wizard bike pal of mine, an old side car racer from the 70´s who has sold me the whole lot very cheap. He got it running once with a skidoo ignition; a total loss system but I need something better than that.
This will definatley NOT be a stock, minty looking bike. I am thinking racy look; has a nice honda ascot skinny fender etc. Just a fast reliable bike.
Just a few questions I guess, are ignition parts available and or expensive? I have two oil pumps and is that tremendously preferable to mixing gas? Are they really that smokey? Is it worth starting this project!?
