Find the bike very temperamental and difficult to start. My carburetors seem to be leaking. I find when the tank is half full, it seemīs impossible to start again if it stalls, and will only start if I refill the tank to full. When it is misty or rainy, it seems not to get any gas, and I am unable to go anywhere? I am trying to find a repair or service manual, but BMW here in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, tell me that the BMW here is not the same as the Russian BMW and so cannot guarantee that a service manual for a 650 cc bike from here may not be the same or be guaranteed? I am not familiar with these bikes, so therefore do not know where to find fuel filters, etc. Should I dismantle my carbs and fuel lines, and is it difficult to find parts for this bike if necessary? Is there any ongoing maintenance for these bikes that I should know about? I just discovered tonight that the shaft that goes through my rear wheel was almost having the nut that holds it on about to come off! (Just a few threads holding it on) After tightening, it seemed difficult to go, I couldnīt tell if it was because the bike was not getting itīs gas (although it seemed that way?) or whether by tightening that bolt on the right side of the rear wheel I may have obstructed itīs ability to drive? My red light on the front right kept flashing on, and as far as I can tell my oil appears to be proper. Should I be using a 10/40 oil for this bike? Also, there is something that looks like an electric starter motor above and in front of the cylinders.Did this bike come with an electric start, or is this just some kind of generator? I just bought the bike 3 weeks ago, and the weather has been too lousy to really study this bike. I also do not have a garage, so I am at the mercy of the elements. If anyone can give me any information as to all of these concerns, or knowledge as to where I can get a repair manual and or parts when needed (including costs) I would be very much appreciative!! W.
