RE: VFR Cooling System inquiry

The temp sensor on my ´86 that turns the fan on went out, so I wired a switch directly from the battery to the fan motor and took care of the problem. The rear cylinders on this bike get much more heat than the front. I´ve ridden this bike around quite a bit with no fan as well. As long as you don´t get stuck in traffic it keeps good temp. If the electric fan doesnt take care of the overheating you may well have a bad thermostat, or worse, head gasket. Good Luck.
