My 1980 XS 1100 just died
M Olson said 2004-06-05 00:12
Help ! My bike just quit running. The battery and fuse are good. When I switch the ignition to on, I get nothing. No neutral, headlight ... nothing. I was able to get it started and drive it home, ( I was only about 6 blocks away ) by bypassing the solenoid with a screwdriver. The bike ran, all the lights came on, but I think that maybe the starter didn´t disengage, until it died again, about a half of a block from home. I have a manual but can´t find the relay switch. I´m wondering if it is built into the ignition box on this model ? Also does anyone have any idea what the most likely problem is. Please e-mail me with any ideas. Thanks Marv Olson
