I have owned a ktm 380 exc 99 model for 12 months now ,When running i quite enjoy riding this bike its light reasonably powerful ,but thats where the fun stops! It is with out a doubt the most difficult bike i have ever had to start , firstly it must be kicked over incredibly fast ,which is extremely hard to do given that it has a very short kick starter operating at a strange angle {i used to think honda cr 500´were hard to start} Kick starters break [two now] parts inside the case ,the centre case its self,i have actually had a kick starter explode off the bike while atempting to start it ,forget trying to start it unless you have it up against a tree or something solid ,however it bump starts very easily ! I have had it tuned at several shops, thinking that was to blame every time the mechanics telling me ,it is in good tune they are just very difficult to start and that i should have bought the 300 because the 300 starts easily and has nearly the same power. I cant believe ktm released this thing ,if you like a challenge find one for sale somewhere and try to start it!! P.S take boots
