Yes you can. My 1st time to the discussion group, just in case you haven\´t gotten an answer yet. When I bought my 82 Silverwing 29 years ago, it came with an unattached passenger seat, which I installed in place of the trunk. I also bought a trunk kit, which basically was some brackets which let me install the trunk behind the passenger seat for the passenger to lean against. I got the kit from the dealer when I bought the bike.
