Oil drain is on the right side as setting on the bike. On the side of the motor. Fairly large cover which houses the screen type filter which is held in with a compressed spring. Holds a Quart of oil. Should be changed every 1000 miles regardless of the oil change indicator which shold come up every 1200 miles to be reset by the ignition key pressed into the slot on handlebar. Any 10w40 oil will work I prefer synthitic like Mobile One.
