Yes. The battery doesn´t have to be hot enough to run the starter, but if you don´t see a neutral light with the ignition on, it wont start unless you push it. You can jump it if the battery is dead, but the engine will stall below 1,100 rpm if the battery wont take a charge once you pull the cables from your car or booster/charger off of the bike. It might be a good idea to check the points for corrosion, gap, moisture, etc. I rarely have to adjust the gap, as long as they gap and make contact when they close you should get spark. Good luck.
