Watch out for the fuel valve.. seems the diaphram will develope a small leak and suck gas through the vacuum line.. many have replaced the valve with one from pingle.. (check out denniskirk.com) the fuel valve in normal position is straight down, towards the back is prime and to the front is reserve.. normal and reserve need vacuum to function... prime runs fuel all the time ( important to know if the needle valves donĀ“t seat .. floods the carbs).. if never riden bikes before take a msf riding course.. you may learn some skills that will keep the shiny side up..
