Hi folks. I have a 1998 er5 that I need to fit a 2nd-hand electronic rev-counter to and that needs fitting into a new clock case as all the cases have been bodged on. Unfortunately, I could only find a 2nd-hand GPZ 500 rev-counter (same part number for an er5) in a complete set of GPZ clocks. I´m happy to strip and swap over, but am concerned I will lose the setting/pre-load for zero once I remove the needle. Am I correct? If so, how do I get around this issue? Maybe ´have the dash powered up and place the needle at zero-revs´ is one thought I had. Grateful for any knowledge on this, as electronics and don´t get on!
