Review of the 2006 Gilera RCR
Review from an owner

The Gilera RCR is a dream for any 16 year old, wanting to start of their motorcycle career. Review of the RCR submitted on 2007-05-02.
The bike itself it pretty much exactly the same as a Derbi Senda, but has ifferent fairing, in my opinion the Gilera RCR looks much better. Spares are really cheap, easy to get hold of and easy to fit. The acceleration on the bike is awesome, but a ´must´ modification to the bike would definatley be getting it de-restriced and getting a new exhaust system for it such as the Metrakit Thrower. This improves the performance immensely, particularly at low to medium RPM. There are many more mods you can do to this bike, at an affordable price too. Examples being, 70-80cc bore kits which i would only reccomend getting if you are 17, and hold a valid licence for up to 125cc, otherwise if your caught, you will be in the s**t! There are also full engine rebuilt kits such as bigger carbs, clutches, gear boxes, reeds etc. All available cheap and easy. It can also be easily converted into a supermotard, but can be costly for USD forks, and a decent set of excel talon wheels. The bike itself handles like a dream, there are things you can do with it, that other bikes cannot. It is definately for a 16 year old with an incentive to have fun. Oveerall it is very cheap to run, fun and easy to ride.
