I have recently bought a Yamaha Jog R for my son to use to get to and from work. It was first registered in Sepember 2004 and has only 4800 miles on it.

It seems the petrol/air screw has fallen out of the carburettor, causing the bike to misbehave. It loses power and sometimes will only do 15mph.

I am having endless problems finding a replacement screw for it. A mechanic who has looked at it says the carb is stamped as a Minarelli, which he says were fitted to some Jog Rs made in Italy, but the carb is actually probably made by a company called Gurtner.

I have twice tried ordering a screw from my local yamaha dealer (based on the frame number) but each time it has not fit. They seem at a loss as to how to help me.

We currently have a normal wood screw jammed in there which seems to allow the bike to run OK, though it is heavy on fuel.

Can anyone PLEASE advise me where I can find the correct petrol air screw for this bike. You can e-mail me direct at robert.ridley@men-news.co.uk

I would be very grateful as this is now driving me mad!

Thanks - Robert Ridley
