This model was the first bike I ever owned. I had it 8 years and it never once gave me a problem. It took a while to start after a long Ontario winter but always started anyway. A top-heavy bike but once in motion was quite manouverable. I owned it between 1991-1999. When I sold it, it still got up to 160 km/h no problem. If anyone out there is looking for a solid problem-free starter bike, I highly recommend the CX500. I still see a couple on the streets of Vnacouver to this day!
