I intend to start riding again and am interested in buying the Electra Glide Classic. I am not terribly mechanically oriented and never owned a Harley Davidson in the past because of my concern for its high maintenance requirements. What is the general consensus regarding the (mechanical) reliability of the current crop of Harley Davidson motorcycles? Are they reliable? The Harley salesmen, of course, swear that they are. Can they be believed? Can a non-mechanical individual expect a (relatively) maintenance free ride?
