engine idle unstable and slight misfire when accelerating

I have been experiencing poor idle quality and misfiring at low engine speeds i.e. accelerating between 2000and 3000 rpm. The dealer has drilled the pilot jets and raised the needles slightly which has improved it but not completely .any ideas?
