my name is max Toney I am living in St Vincent. I Bought a yamaha xs400 From some one .It needs some repairs but I will need some assistance to get it on the road.At present it is not starting.It have only the push button to start it.The starter motor is turning over good but it is not picking up ,the cylinders are not firing. one time I got the bike started it trottled for a while then closed off . I got it to start a second time and had it reving for a while then the top of the mofflers close to cylinders got extremly hot then it closed off.The petcork is damaged the to diaphroms are perished so some one told me to take out the inside of the petcork and installed a regular on/off valve .That person said when I am not using the bike turn it off when I am about to start the bike turn it on. Is this a good idea. I would appreciate as much help as posible to get on the road.thank you.
